About Sprouts:
Genuine relationships form the heart of our school. We recognize children’s unique interests, needs, and backgrounds, and offer support to each individual as they begin to explore the world beyond their homes. At Sprouts Montessori, students are offered a “home away from home”. Within our safe, peaceful and loving settings, children are able to relax, have fun and make new friends.
We garden and play in our dedicated outdoor spaces, and we explore the neighborhood together as we visit our parks and playgrounds. Sprouts students also enjoy fun and cozy group times for stories, music, sharing and presentations.
Mission Statement:
Sprouts Montessori recognizes the uniqueness of each child. We offer Bend children an opportunity to live and learn naturally, and with joy.
Our Vision:
We envision an environment of safety and respect in which children are offered liberty to explore their world. Sprouts Montessori is designed for young children’s special sensitivities, and supports natural human growth and development. Consistency between home and school in modeling healthy choices, respecting the natural world, and being kind gives children the support they need to develop to their fullest potentials.
The Director and Owner:
Sprouts Montessori of Bend is owned and operated by Sharon Richardson. She received her BA in Developmental Psychology from Boston University, and her Primary (2.9-7y) Montessori certification and California PK-Gr12 Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Saint Mary’s College of CA. She also trained in Montessori elementary methods at the Montessori World Educational Institute in Morrow Bay, CA, and received specialized training in assisting and advising parents of young children (prenatal-3 years old) at The Montessori Institute-San Diego from the late and esteemed Dr. Sylvana Montanaro.
